Loneliness And Social Anxiety

I’m sorry you’ve been feeling this isolation for such a long time. I cant’ even begin to comprehend what it is you are feeling and experiencing, so I cannot and will not even attempt to suggest to you what you should or shouldn’t do.
I live in Australia, and in 2011-12 there were 3.0 million Australians (13.6%) who reported having a mental and behavioural condition. Mood (affective) problems, which include depression, were most prevalent (2.1 million people or 9.7% of the population) followed by anxiety related problems (850,100 people or 3.8%).

Clearly, it is a serious problem that affects many, many people, not just here in Australia, but across the world.

Edit: I’d like to thank everyone who has commented so far, and apologize for the fact that it took me this long to respond. I had no idea I was Freshly Pressed, and as I’d only received about 5 page views, 2 likes,  and  no comments in the several days I checked my stats, I never expected so many comments to get jammed up in the moderation queue.  

It occurred to me the other day that it’s been about 7 years since I’ve had someone in my life that I could hang out with, and 9 years since I’ve had a close friend.
